Photography Guild Show

The Paso Robles Art Association currently has a show in the Showroom at Studios-on-the-Park until Sunday February 9th. I feel very honored to have had my two entries both place in the show.

I took 3rd Place with Lost Dreams, a photograph of a boat in Tomales Bay. I set out to deliberately produce this photography of this particular scene and I was very please with the resulting effort. I tried a few new post-processing techniques and ended up, after many hours, with the exact photography I had set out to create. I felt very gratified to have been accepted in to the show, and to have placed.

I entered a second piece, Autumn in Red I, which had previously placed 2nd at the Mid-State Fair photography competition in 2013. I was utterly flabbergasted to have heard my name announced a second time when this piece took 1st place in the show.

It was nice to have been selected by the juror, Brittany App of Templeton. She appears to have connected with my work, and I am grateful.

Festival of the Arts

Saturday the 25th is the Festival of the Arts in Paso Robles. Should be a terrific way to spend the day and enjoy the arts.

I have a piece hanging in the Studios-on-the-Park Wild and Precious show. The reception is at 5pm.

Hope some of you can come up to Paso and enjoy the first day of this three day weekend.

My first show

Tomorrow I will hang a show of my work at the Paso Robles Library. It will be 18 or so of my photos. I am pretty excited about it, as it is the first time I have had a show which consisted of just my work. I've have had one, and sometimes two pieces in a show with others, but this is all new too me. Thanks goodness for Chase, I could not do any of this without him. I can't believe how much work this is!

Anyway, if you can, come down to the Paso Robles Library (1000 Spring St., across from the Park) between Saturday the 2nd and the end of the month. They are open from 10 to 8 Monday through Friday and 10 to 5 on Saturday. If you can't make it take a look at my new gallery here, it has the pictures which will be there.
